Jodhpur National University (JNU): After successfully running programs in the fields of Management, Dental and IT engineering; JNU announces its launch of the 3 Years Bachelor Degree and 1 Year Diploma courses in the field of Animation Starting 2009. Animation Courses offered at JNU (Jaipur & Jodhpur):
- 3 Years Degree Bachelor in Computer Animation (BCA) Minimum eligibility: student who have successfully completed 10+2.
- 1 Year Full time Diploma in Animation Minimum eligibility: student who have successfully completed 10+2. Gradates in various streams can also apply and can be accepted on the basis of aptitude and other criteria set by the University.
- 2 Year part time Diploma in Animation (offered only at Jaipur campus) Student pursuing other Graduation/Post Graduation can apply.
Career Opportunities: The Indian animation industry with an average growth rate of over 20% is estimated to reach a size of INR 39 billion by 2013 as per 2009 FICCI report.
The biggest challenge faced by this industry growing at such a fast pace is the lack of skilled animation professionals. With Indian companies such as TATA, Reliance and Satyam setting up state-of-art animation studios, India has already positioned itself as a significant provider of animation content creation. There is a continuous demand for skilled animators by studios catering to various end user segments such us feature film, T.V programs, advertisements and computer games wide employment opportunities.

Animator’s Guild for Networking and Initiative (AGNI) to be launched at CGI VFX Expo tomorrow
The CGI VFX Expo, an exhibition dedicated to animation and gaming industry which will be held at the Chennai Trade Centre from 6th-8th March, will also see the launch of AGNI (Animator’s Guild for Networking and Initiatives).
AGNI (Animator’s Guild for Networking and Initiatives) is an initiative by Chennai’s Media and Entertainment Industry professionals and stalwarts.

Animation program in IDC IITB
The Animation program in IDC strives to create people with expertise who will eventually emerge as leaders to influence the future of Animation. IDC expects the students to assume direct responsibility for nearly all aspects of the film making process - from concept to drawing, shooting, camera etc.
India will soon be a player in the international framework of animation production. This turning point brings with it huge responsibilities. We are a newly born, yet unnurtured potential animation culture without a substantial animation history. It is an important time its learning and practice that is informed by an indigenous sensibility.
